About Us
We are a cutting-edge technology company revolutionizing logistics and automation in the healthcare sector. Our AI-powered solutions are transforming how critical resources are managed and delivered in complex environments. As a rapidly growing startup backed by top-tier investors, we're building technology that makes a real difference in healthcare operations. Our engineering team combines expertise in AI, automation, and enterprise software to solve complex real-world challenges.
Role Overview
As Backend Tech Lead, you will architect and build the distributed services that move autonomous robots and vital medical supplies through complex environments. This is a hands-on leadership role: you will write production code, own architectural decisions, and steer the evolution of a real-world logistics platform on AWS.
What You’ll Do
- Design and ship distributed services for real-time robot coordination, scheduling, and telemetry
- Own the architecture and data models for our event-driven stack (IoT Core, EventBridge, Lambda, Step Functions, DynamoDB, and more)
- Build everything as code using Serverless Framework or CloudFormation, with fully automated infrastructure provisioning
- Harden the platform for resilience, observability, and secure device-to-cloud communication (Datadog, SSM, least-privilege IAM)
- Drive engineering rigor in TDD, CI/CD with GitHub Actions, and p99 performance tuning
- Collaborate with product and robotics teams to align capabilities and constraints as we scale
- Elevate the team through hiring, mentoring, and insightful code reviews
Experience Level
- 7+ years designing, building, and owning distributed backend systems at production scale
- Deep AWS expertise across IoT Core, Lambda, Step Functions, DynamoDB, EventBridge, secured with least-privilege IAM and provisioned via Infrastructure as Code using Serverless Framework, CloudFormation, or Terraform
- Node.js and TypeScript specialist with a record of low latency, event-driven services for IoT ingestion, real-time analytics, and high-throughput messaging, including hands-on tuning to meet strict p99 targets
- Quality-first engineer who practices rigorous TDD, full automation, and CI/CD, embedding resilience, monitoring, and alerting for around-the-clock reliability
- Clear, empathetic communicator who mentors through thoughtful code reviews and pairing, and actively supports hiring and onboarding
What You Bring
- Strategic mindset with confidence in making trade-offs that balance speed, quality, and long-term maintainability
- Craftsmanship that yields maintainable, testable, and observable code that thrives in production
- Production savvy understanding of security, scalability, and performance best practices
- Leads by example through design guidance, mentoring, and thorough code reviews
- Takes ownership of business-critical systems and drives them to success
Bonus Points
- Domain experience in robot coordination, scheduling, or telemetry
- Familiarity with elevator systems, building automation, or other IoT integrations
- Background in migrating monoliths to service-oriented architectures
Why You’ll Love It Here
- High impact: every line of code improves hospital logistics and patient outcomes
- Fast pace and ownership: design it, ship it, and take pride in the results
- Purpose-driven work: build robotics systems for high-stakes environments like hospitals and labs
- Hybrid flexibility: regular on-site collaboration in Tel-Aviv with remote days when needed
