Role Description

As an Android tech lead, you'll help architect the app to take it to the next level as well as implement complex features, taking end-to-end ownership from working with the design team to shipping to app store. We are obsessed with taking complex features and making them accessible, fast and fun.

Our Android team is small and mighty so you'll have an outsized impact on the company.

We touch (almost) every possible aspect of the Android capabilities, from notifications and sharing to audio and video, WebSockets, drawing on canvases and much much more.

We utilize the latest technologies from Kotlin and Compose, sqlite, flows and co-routines. Have automated tests and take pride in making the app something we love to use daily.

Our offices are located in Sharona, and we are in the office Monday and Wednesday

What you’ll do

• Craft polished, high-performance features - from custom messaging UIs to audio/video calling and everything in between
• Push the limits of local-first architecture: optimize a multi-million-row SQLite DB, fine-tune sync with WebSockets, and keep the app buttery-smooth offline
• Own projects end-to-end: scope, design, code, test, release, and monitor
• Pair with Product & Design to prototype new ideas and iterate fast
• Raise the bar on code quality, automation, and engineering best practices
• Mentor teammates and help us hire the next wave of Android talent

What You Bring

• 5+ years of Android experience, with deep Kotlin fluency.
• Jetpack Compose mastery and battle-tested knowledge of Coroutines & Flows.
• Track record shipping large-scale, consumer-grade apps to the Play Store.
• Comfort profiling, debugging, and squeezing performance out of mobile hardware.
• Clear, empathetic communication - bonus points if you love giving (and getting) feedback.

Bonus Points

• Built a local-first / offline-first product before.
• Hands-on with SQLite internals, WebSockets, or WebRTC.
• Exposure to multimedia (in-app video, voice messages, Canvas drawing).
