NewPhotonics is seeking an experienced and innovative Algorithm Engineer to join our advanced R&D team. This team leads the development of cutting-edge photonics-based communication solutions for next-generation data centers. As an Algorithm Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing sophisticated algorithms that optimize performance, reliability, and efficiency of our electro-optical systems.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and optimize algorithms for high-speed optical communication systems.
- Perform modelling, simulation, and analysis to evaluate algorithm performance and robustness.
- Collaborate closely with hardware and software teams to integrate algorithms into complex electro-optical systems.
- Define and document algorithm specifications and requirements clearly and accurately.
- Conduct data analysis from experimental tests and system simulations to validate algorithm effectiveness.
- Support troubleshooting and provide solutions to performance-related challenges.
Requirements:
- B.Sc. or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in algorithm development, particularly in fields related to photonics, optical communications, or high-speed RF.
- Solid understanding of DSP algorithms, signal processing, and statistical analysis.
- Programming experience in Python.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Hands-on experience with data analysis and numerical simulations.
- Ability to effectively communicate complex concepts clearly and efficiently within multidisciplinary teams.

- Experience in integration and testing of algorithms on physical hardware.
