FertilAI, an Israeli startup following a recent funding round, is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Backend Developer to build and scale the infrastructure powering the next generation of precision medicine in fertility. Our platform integrates with major IVF clinics and helps physicians make data-driven decisions to improve treatment success rates.

You’ll work in a dynamic startup environment alongside a small, fast-moving team and collaborate closely with leading fertility doctors (REIs) from one of the world’s largest IVF centers.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and serverless backend systems (primarily on AWS)
• Own the cloud infrastructure that supports real-time medical decision support tools
• Build robust APIs and backend services to support AI/ML workflows and clinic-facing applications
• Develop and enforce best practices in CI/CD, security, monitoring, and infrastructure-as-code
• Collaborate with data scientists, frontend engineers, and clinical advisors to translate ideas into production-ready features

Qualifications:

• BSc or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
• 5+ years of experience as a backend developer
• Proven experience with serverless architectures (AWS Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, etc.)
• Strong skills in Python or a similar modern object-oriented language
• Solid understanding of microservices, RESTful APIs, authentication flows, and event-driven systems
• Experience with CI/CD, observability (CloudWatch, Prometheus, etc.), and production system debugging
• Strong skills working with relational databases (MySQL, SQL Server, etc.)

Bonus:

• Experience with SQLAlchemy or other ORM technologies
• Experience with EMR integration or HL7/FHIR standards
• Experience with infrastructure automation tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK)
• Interest or background in fertility, women's health, or medical systems
