What are we looking for?

We’re seeking a motivated and technically adept leader to guide a cross-functional team of Developers and Data Scientists. You’ll be responsible for leading the development of end-to-end data solutions, ensuring a smooth transition from research to scalable, production-ready systems while maintaining live services.

As a Team Leader at Planck, you will:

  • Lead and mentor a cross-functional, Engineering and Data Science team, fostering collaboration and ownership while delivering high-impact solutions.
  • Drive the transition from innovation and POC’s to production-level, scalable applications.
  • Define best practices for integrating LLM solutions into production.
  • Collaborate closely with product, data science, and engineering stakeholders to define goals, tackle complex problems, and deliver tangible results.
  • Maintain a culture that balances agility, technical excellence, and continuous learning.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience leading technical teams — ideally with exposure to both engineering and data-focused projects.
  • Strong coding background, ideally in Python, with hands-on experience designing and delivering scalable, production-grade systems — and a clear understanding of what it takes to ship high-quality software at scale.
  • Experience working with data — whether through pipelines, analytics-heavy systems, backend APIs, or close collaboration with data teams.
  • Comfortable with modern development practices such as CI/CD, containerization, service observability, or deploying AI/LLM models at scale.
  • Advantage: Experience collaborating with data scientists, analysts, or ML teams and bridging between data and engineering when needed.
  • Excellent communication skills — able to explain complex technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • A bias for action, ownership, and continuous improvement.

Benefits:

  • Team events, fully-stocked kitchen, yoga, and more
  • Great work-life balance
  • Hybrid work environment
  • Generous amount of PTO days
