Job Summary
The Red Hat Engineering team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our storage group. You will assist in the development and productization of software that helps Red Hat meet the needs of virtualization customers with existing SANs looking for an alternative to VMware. The team’s broader mission is to deliver end-to-end solutions that further establish Red Hat as a leader in specific emerging markets, emphasizing upstream development and community collaboration.
What you will do
- Develop and maintain an OpenShift operator focussed on the experience of utilizing storage
- Contribute code to increase the usability, scalability, and reliability of Red Hat offerings
- Participate in peer review to increase the quality of our codebase, and triage customer issues
- Help and develop peers’ capabilities through knowledge sharing, mentoring, and collaboration
- Function as a productive member of a global team
What you will bring
- 3+ years of experience working on with SANs
- 2+ years of experience working in a Linux environment with Golang (or similar)
- Ability to deep dive into new technologies and be productive
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills in English
- Demonstrated ability to debug and optimize code
- Experience with open source development and complex distributed systems
The Following Are Considered a Plus
- Experience with a container ecosystem such as Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift
- Familiarity with any of the following topics: high-availability, virtualization, networking
