A Day in the Life

A proficient and experienced Senior Automation Engineer to join our dynamic team in Yokneam. In this hybrid role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the quality and performance of our software applications and systems. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining robust automation infrastructure and implementing comprehensive automated tests across API, UI, and mobile platforms. This role offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with development, QA, DevOps, and product teams, contributing to the delivery of high-quality products.

Work office is located at Medtronic Yokneam, work model is hybrid (3 days a week at the office).

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Tests the functionality and performance of software applications or systems software.
  • Develops and executes test plans and scripts designed to detect problems in software applications and systems software.
  • Ensures software applications or systems software meets technical and functional requirements.
  • Performs workflow analysis, documents test results and recommends quality improvements.
  • Works with development to resolve software defects and diagnose/improve product configuration for current and future models.
  • Reviews test automation frameworks, tools, techniques, and methodologies.


Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • At least 3 year’s experience working as an automation engineer
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a scalable and efficient test automation infrastructure using Java-based technologies.
  • Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts for API, UI, and mobile applications.
  • Utilize APIs and AWS services to create comprehensive and integrated automation solutions.
  • Perform database validation to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
  • Analyze software requirements and technical specifications to design effective test plans and scripts.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and feedback.
  • Perform workflow analysis, document test results, and provide clear and concise reports on test execution and defects.
  • Work closely with development teams to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects.
  • Collaborate with QA teams to align automation efforts with overall testing strategies.
  • Partner with DevOps teams to optimize the automation pipeline and infrastructure.
  • Communicate effectively with product teams to understand requirements and provide quality-related feedback.
  • Review and recommend improvements to test automation frameworks, tools, techniques, and methodologies.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our software development and testing processes.
  • Knowledge in developing automation infrastructure \ automation tests for UI API or end to end system tests.
  • Experience with integrating automation into Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps) is often crucial for a senior role and isn't mentioned.
