Job Summary

The Red Hat Software Engineering team is seeking an experienced Senior Frontend Engineer to join our team. In this position, you will contribute to developing cutting-edge front-end solutions, ensuring seamless user experiences across our web applications. You will leverage your expertise in React, CSS, HTML, Webpack, and other front-end technologies to build enterprise-ready applications. Additionally, you will work with CI/CD pipelines to streamline development workflows and ensure high-quality code delivery.

As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing new features while collaborating closely with designers, backend engineers, and stakeholders to create high-performance, scalable applications.

What You Will Do

  • Design and develop high-quality frontend features and components using React, CSS, HTML, and Webpack.
  • Optimize application performance, ensuring fast and smooth user experiences.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate testing and deployment processes.
  • Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate frontend components with APIs and microservices.
  • Maintain and improve frontend build processes, ensuring efficient development workflows.
  • Submit bug fixes, review code contributions, and follow best practices for code quality and maintainability.
  • Work closely with UX designers to translate design concepts into functional user interfaces.
  • Contribute to open-source projects and participate in community discussions.

What You Will Bring

  • Extensive experience with React.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
  • Strong understanding of Webpack, Babel, and other modern front-end build tools.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI.
  • Experience with testing frameworks like Jest, React Testing Library, or Cypress.
  • Proficiency in version control systems like Git and GitHub.
  • Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and GraphQL for frontend-backend communication.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

The Following Is Considered a Plus

  • Experience working in an Agile development environment (Scrum, Kanban).
  • Familiarity with design systems and UI component libraries (PatternFly, Material-UI, etc.).
  • Contributions to open-source projects or active participation in the development community.
  • Understanding of WebAssembly and best practices for building Micro Frontends
  • Experience with Kubernetes or Red Hat OpenShift - advantage
