Position Overview:

We are seeking an innovative and strategic Vice President of Research & Development (R&D) to lead our R&D efforts for our digital wellbeing and parental control app. As the VP of R&D, you will be responsible for advancing our technological frameworks and ensuring the successful delivery of highly reliable and scalable products. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the technological vision and driving the development of our app using PHP, React.js, and other emerging technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Leadership:**

•  Develop and execute the R&D strategy in alignment with the company’s business goals and product vision.
• Identify and integrate emerging technologies and industry trends to enhance product offerings.
• Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the R&D team.

2. Product Development:

• Oversee the full lifecycle of product development from ideation to deployment, ensuring high performance, usability, and reliability.
•  Lead the design and architecture of scalable solutions, utilizing PHP and React.js.
•  Collaborate with product management and other stakeholders to prioritize features and align technical execution with customer needs.

3. Team Leadership:

• Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing R&D team, encouraging professional growth and a collaborative work environment.
• Set clear goals and expectations, and provide feedback and resources necessary for the team’s success.
• Promote an environment of accountability, transparency, and technical excellence.

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Work closely with product, marketing, sales, and customer service teams to ensure alignment and integration across all functions.
• Address technical challenges and provide guidance to resolve complex development issues.
• Communicate technical designs and decisions succinctly and effectively to executive management and stakeholders.

5. Innovation and Technology:

• Drive innovation in technology utilization, ensuring the application is at the forefront of digital wellbeing trends.
• Establish best practices and enforce coding standards that ensure quality, security, and performance.
• Evaluate and recommend tools, frameworks, and development methodologies that enhance productivity and product outcomes.
• Lead a mobile first approach across native and web technologies

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in software development with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Strong proficiency with PHP and React.js and proven experience developing consumer-facing applications.
• Experience in native mobile technologies (iOS, Android) - significant advantage
• Demonstrated success in leading R&D teams through complex technical projects from concept to completion.
• Experience in cross border management of remote teams
• Excellent problem-solving skills and strategic thinking capabilities.
• Strong leadership and team-building skills with the ability to inspire and motivate.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting with technical and non-technical stakeholders alike.
