Position Overview

We’re looking for a highly motivated and experienced Kubernetes Engineering Manager to lead a team of talented engineers in building scalable, cloud-native solutions. This hybrid role involves approximately 60% management and 40% hands-on technical work.

As the manager, you'll oversee the day-to-day operations of the team, ensuring smooth sprint execution, effective use of Jira, and continuous technical excellence. You’ll also actively contribute to solving complex technical challenges, primarily using Go and Python in a cloud-native environment.

You will manage a strong team, including a senior developer who will report directly to you.

What You’ll Own

  • Lead and manage the Kubernetes engineering team’s day-to-day activities
  • Contribute to the technical direction and architecture of Kubernetes-based solutions
  • Collaborate with the Tech Lead and other engineers to deliver high-quality software
  • Mentor and support the team in their professional growth
  • Facilitate sprint planning, execution, and retrospectives
  • Drive effective Jira usage for task and progress tracking
  • Identify and resolve technical and team-related challenges

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in a leadership/management role
  • 2+ years of experience working with Kubernetes, with in-depth knowledge of its core concepts
  • 6+ years of hands-on backend development experience
  • Strong backend architecture and design skills
  • Solid organizational skills with experience in planning methodologies and Jira
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills — assertive, structured, and team-oriented
  • Proven leadership capabilities, even if from one significant hands-on management position
  • Comfortable leading customer-facing conversations when needed
