Job Description: Computer Vision Engineer – Digital Health Sector


Position Overview:

We are seeking a visionary and experienced Computer Vision Engineer to be a significant counterpart of the development and implementation of cutting-edge computer vision algorithms at CoPilotMD, a startup in the field of minimally invasive endovascular decision support. The ideal candidate will be part of an intimate world class computer vision team ensuring the successful delivery of innovative AI-driven solutions for real-time clinical decision-making. The ideal candidate will actively contribute to research, development, and deployment of cutting edged computer vision applications.

Reports to: Computer Vison & Algorithm Manager

Start date: Immediate


Key Responsibilities:


Hands-On Research and Development:

  • Design, develop, and optimize computer vision algorithms for real-time imaging and analytics tailored to endovascular decision support.
  • Conduct experiments, fine-tune models, and analyze results to ensure robustness and accuracy in clinical environments.
  • Collaborate with data engineers to build pipelines for processing and managing medical imaging datasets, including X-ray, CT and fluoroscopy.


Product Development and Deployment:

  • Collaborate with product & software teams to understand clinician needs and implement suitable solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and standards for medical device software.
  • Establish metrics and benchmarks to evaluate model performance in clinical environments.


Qualifications:

Educational Background:

  • Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field, with a focus on computer vision or machine learning.


Experience:

  • At least 3+ years of hands-on experience developing and deploying computer vision models in real-world applications.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-impact projects in healthcare or other regulated sector involving imaging technologies.
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks in digital health (e.g., FDA, CE marking).


Technical Skills:

  • Deep understanding of machine learning architectures (CNNs, GANs, transformers, etc.).
  • Strong expertise in image processing techniques, including filtering, edge detection, image enhancement, segmentation, image registration and feature extraction.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or C++ and experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).


Soft Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a results-driven mindset.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
