NLP Expert – Full-Time Position

Shaare Zedek Medical Center, one of Israel’s leading hospitals, is seeking an experienced NLP expert to join its Innovation and Data team for a groundbreaking applied AI initiative in the healthcare domain.

We are looking for a creative, adaptable, and independent professional with deep expertise in Natural Language Processing, capable of working with complex clinical text in both Hebrew and English, within secure on-premise environments (no cloud-based tools).

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement advanced NLP models and tools applied to rich clinical data from electronic medical records (EMR).
• Lead projects from definition and design through to implementation and validation.
• Build and optimize text processing pipelines for Hebrew-English medical content.
• Collaborate with data scientists, IT professionals, clinicians, and external partners.
• Adapt NLP workflows to local infrastructure (on-prem) in accordance with strict data privacy and security standards.

Requirements:

• Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in Natural Language Processing (NLP), including working with unstructured data and building custom models.
• Proficiency in Python and leading NLP libraries such as spaCy, NLTK, HuggingFace Transformers, etc.
• Experience processing large-scale text datasets and deploying scalable NLP solutions.
• Ability to work entirely within on-premise environments without reliance on cloud services.
• Strong command of both Hebrew and English, especially in reading and analyzing medical/clinical texts.
• Proven ability to work independently, with flexibility and strong problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with medical data or in healthcare settings.
• Familiarity with bilingual or non-English NLP models.
• Broader data science skills, including feature engineering, statistical analysis, and machine learning.
