Responsibilities

• Developing and lifetime maintenance of software solutions using a range of technologies and languages, primarily Node.js, Python, and React. Also performing related troubleshooting, debugging, and upgrades
• Building functions and applications for effectively querying data sources and managing related analysis and databases
• Development of cloud-based systems capable of handling information at high volumes, with high availability, reliability, and high standards of information security
• Designing and developing APIs
• Maintain high standards for code quality and ability for refactor for optimized solutions
• Testing & automation of new software features with in the CI/CD pipeline
• Debug and resolve software defects
• Collaborating with the rest of the software development team to design and launch new features
• Reporting directly to the Engineering Lead of Heka

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience as a full-stack developer, or equivalent experience
• High command of multiple back-end and front-end languages, such as Node.js, Python, React
• Familiarity with data structures and algorithms, data coupling techniques, profiling and optimization
• Strong communications and teamwork skills
• Desire to work in a fast, high-growth startup that breaks silos between engineering and business
• Strong written and oral communication skills, as well as the ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice to have

• BSC degree in a quantitative discipline such as statistics, mathematics, data science, computer science, or other similar quantitative fields.
• Experience developing or working with technical products related to finance, financial markets, debt instruments, or financial innovation
