We are seeking a Data Scientist to join our team and research, develop, and improve the analytical and statistical methodology for model monitoring and data management. This role will report to the Data Science Team Lead and help improve the way we model data, build analytical flows, and enhance other aspects of our ML-based risk model.
Requirements:
A day in the life:
- Work with large and complex data sets to solve a wide array of challenging problems using different analytical and statistical approaches.
- Analyze Fairmatic’s risk product, identify improvements, and communicate results with internal stakeholders, including leadership, to ensure these are incorporated into business proc esses.
- Lead our risk model data science performance monitoring. Define, understand, and test opportunities to improve the product, and drive roadmaps through your insights and recommendations.
- Deliver directions for future data science research that are related to the model performance.
- Design data collection strategies and their applications for building new products.
- Collaborate with the data engineering team to define and implement data processing work flows.
- Participate in the design of data preparation processes, ensuring seamless integration of business requirements and technical feasibility.

What you will need:
- 2 years of experience as a Data Scientist.
- 2 years of experience as a data/business/research analyst.
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, a relevant technical field. MSc in relevant field - advantage.
- Wide experience in analytical and research roles; analysing business problems, conducting comprehensive data analysis, implementing and testing solutions.
- An analytical mindset, with an ability to understand complex problems, visualize data and extract valuable insights.
- Experience with supervised and unsupervised machine learning models (GLM, GAM, XGBoost, Deep Learning, etc)
- Hands-on programming experience with Python ML packages (such as Pandas and scikit-learn) and data querying using SQL.
- Keep up to date with new developments in the DS field and adopt these to improve existing products.
- A product-driven mindset with a knack for transforming research outcomes into impactful products.
- Excellent communication skills – can articulate experiment goals and methodologies clearly and communicate insights in an easily accessible way to the team.Experience with risk models or insurance companies - advantage.
