About the RoleWe are looking for a Head of DevOps to lead, shape, and elevate our infrastructure, tools, FinOps, and security practices across our Engineering and Data Science teams. As the leader of this function, you will have the opportunity to build and scale cloud operations, optimize CI/CD pipelines, and drive innovation to ensure that our platforms are positioned for rapid, high-quality development. You will play a pivotal role in shaping our cloud architecture, implementing best practices, and setting the roadmap for future growth.
In this leadership position, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver transformative solutions that ensure the scalability, security, and efficiency of our development lifecycle. You'll also take ownership of managing cloud costs and building high-performance computing infrastructure that empowers our Data Science team.
Key Responsibilities- Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and guide a team of DevOps engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
- Cloud Operations: Architect and optimize the AWS cloud environment with a focus on security, compliance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
- CI/CD & Development Optimization: Design and maintain efficient CI/CD pipelines, streamline development workflows, and ensure the optimization of the entire development cycle.
- Cloud Deployment: Extensive experience managing cloud deployments across different regions and for various products. The ideal candidate will be capable of designing and refactoring our existing system to align with best industry practices, while also meeting our evolving development and deployment needs.
- FinOps Management: Analyze and manage cloud spending, implement cost optimization strategies, and align resource usage with business objectives.
- Data Science Support: Provide infrastructure for the Data Science team to facilitate high-performance computing (HPC) and support complex data projects.
- Deployment & Scalability: Build scalable deployment processes for team products, including integration of third-party tools.
- Monitoring & Logging: Implement robust monitoring, logging, and observability solutions to gain deep insights into system health, performance, and cost drivers.
- Collaboration with New Development: Partner with teams to provide AWS guidance, support any new development initiatives, and implement best practices for and infrastructure for cloud development.
Requirements- Experience: At least 7+ years of DevOps experience, with at least 2+ years in a leadership role.
- Cloud Expertise: Strong expertise in AWS cloud architecture and operations, with a deep understanding of AWS best practices.
- CI/CD & Automation: Proven experience in building and optimizing CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, etc.) and using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Experience in AWS CDK (Cloud Development Kit) is a strong plus.
- Experience in GitHub Actions is a strong plus.
- FinOps: Experience with cloud cost management and FinOps strategies, with a track record of optimizing cloud spending.
- High-Performance Computing: Experience supporting data science teams with infrastructure for high-performance computing and complex data projects.
- Monitoring & Security: Expertise in monitoring, logging, and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack), and in implementing security best practices across cloud platforms.
- Leadership & Collaboration: Proven ability to lead teams, mentor engineers, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including engineering, data science, and product management.
- Technologies: Familiarity with modern DevOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.), cloud platforms, and third-party integrations.
