We seek an exceptional Engineering Team Lead to drive our claims and core systems development. This role offers the opportunity to impact a critical aspect of our business significantly. You'll be at the forefront of innovation, building and leading a high-performance team essential to our company's success and growth.

A day in the life:

• Architect and lead the development of our claims system
• Build and lead a new, elite engineering team capable of tackling diverse, complex challenges
• Foster positive relationships through collaboration with cross-functional teams across global sites
• Balance hands-on development with strategic leadership, optimizing for both velocity and quality
• Partner closely with product teams to understand and implement critical features in the claims domain
• Drive architectural decisions, system design, and technology choices that shape our platform's future
• Champion engineering best practices and innovative solutions across the company
• Mentor and grow team members, aligning their professional development with company goals
• Exemplify and foster Fairmatic’s humble, collaborative, and impact-obsessed culture

What you will need:

• 7+ years of engineering experience, with 3+ years in an early-stage startup environment
• 2+ years of team leadership experience, demonstrating the ability to hire and grow high-performing teams
• BA/BSc degree in Computer Science or equivalent field
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with diverse, global teams
• Proactive mindset to drive change and push for innovative solutions
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to navigate complex technical challenges
• Strong background in software architecture and system design for scalable, cloud-based applications
• Proficiency in Python or any similar OO programming language
• Expertise in DBs, including SQL, NoSQL, and Big data systems
• Understanding of cloud platforms (preferably AWS) and DevOps best-practices
• Knowledge of web development and ability to lead full-stack developers
