Software Engineer (BE & DevOps Team) at Walmart Global Tech Israel

About us

Walmart Global Tech’s presence in Israel has grown over the past few years with 3 acquisitions to date, all develop using industry leading technologies.

We are currently seeking an experienced Software engineer to join our apparel BackEnd & DevOps Global Tech team.

Key responsibilities:

• Be part of the design, maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshoot our cloud applications and infrastructure.
• Develop microservices with different technologies for high scale environment.
• Take care of all aspects of software development and DevOps processes - from technologies, security, scalability and reliability processes.
• Drive technical excellence, high product quality, innovation, and timely delivery in an agile, production critical environment.

Requirements:

• Team player, positive attitude, and problem-solver.
• 5+ years of development experience
• Experience with NoSql and relational DB’s
• Software architecture patterns: microservices, CQRS, event sourcing.
• Computer science fundamentals: Data structures, algorithms, performance complexity, and implications of computer architecture on software performance, e.g. I/O and memory tuning.
• Software engineering fundamentals: SOLID, TDD, version control systems (Git, Github,GitLab) and workflows, and ability to write production-ready code.

Advantage:

• Production experience in a SaaS environment - Metrics, Logging, Troubleshooting production systems.
• Experience with at least one major cloud provider - AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Experience with Kubernetes and Docker containers.
• 3-5 years of experience in jvm language (Java, Kotlin, etc)
• Hands on with DevOps processes.
