We are looking for a lab engineer for Mark Sheinin's lab at the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science at Weizmann Institute of Science.
The lab is focused on creating innovative computational imaging and computer vision algorithms.
The role includes:
- Procuring and maintaining the lab's electronic and optical equipment
- Active participation in exciting ongoing research projects
- Helping students to design and execute lab and field experiments
- Facilitating the exchange of knowledge among lab students, encompassing code bases and hardware expertise
- Providing support for the writing of grants and the development of paper manuscripts
- Presenting projects and demos at international conferences – as required
Qualifications:
- B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics; a Master's or Ph.D. degree is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Python programming - a must
- Hands-on experience with computer vision algorithms code (e.g., OpenCV, scikit-image, PyTorch, Kornia, etc) is an advantage
- Hands-on experience in building optical systems – an advantage
- High proficiency in English - both spoken and written
