What You’ll Do as a Senior Backend Software Engineer:

• Platform Infrastructure: Design and build our robust platform infrastructure.

• User Experience: Deliver a super-fast and seamless user experience for end-users.

• Mentorship and Collaboration: Design and review code, troubleshoot issues, and mentor team members on technical matters.

• Innovation: Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.

• Code Testing: Test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability.

Experience and Skills Important for Success in This Role:

• Extensive Experience: 8+ years of experience with any object-oriented language.

• Ruby on Rails Expertise: Mandatory experience with Ruby on Rails.

• Database Expertise: Experience with relational databases, including design and query optimization.

• Distributed Systems: Experience with distributed systems and message brokers.

• Open Source Contribution: Contribution to open source projects and/or writing gems.

• Independence and Ownership: Self-directed, independent, and proven experience in owning complete features/products.

• Communication Skills: Proficient in spoken and written English.

• Agile Knowledge: Knowledge of Agile principles.

• Educational Background: B.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent is an advantage.

• Curiosity and Passion: A strong curiosity and passion for constantly learning new things.

Bonus Points For:

• Experience with GraphQL.

• Familiarity with RabbitMQ, Python, and machine learning (including academic experience).

• Skills in data collection and analysis.
