Job Summary

The Red Hat Ecosystems Engineering group is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to join our growing team. In this role, you will work with a diverse team of highly motivated engineers on designing and implementing new Edge Management solution, focused on scale, high availability and resilience, to simplify the management of edge computing infrastructure. You will also be working closely with the product management, other engineering groups within Red Hat, and with Red Hat partners and lighthouse customers.

What You Will Do

• Drive the direction and execution of the core development team and build enterprise software products at scale.
• Develop and implement the short- and long-term strategies for technology, development, and productization.
• Contribute and lead technical discussions, designs, cross teams engineering collaboration and customers and partners engagements
• Lead the day-to-day activities of the core team across the globe, including detailed project management.
• Manage and grow a motivated, engaged, and effective team, highly focused on execution and delivery.
• Play an active role in hiring activities for on-site and remote team
  
  

What You Will Bring

• Experience managing software engineering teams, both technically and as a people manager
• Previously managed a group of 5+ engineers.
• Deep technical understanding and expertise, ability to navigate through high level system and software architecture, down to detailed designs, code reviews and problems solving. This is a highly technical and hands-on role.
• Excellent understanding of all aspects of software development, project management, quality assurance, and customer advocacy in a large-scale environment.
• Demonstrate a history of successfully delivering large, complex, and enterprise grade solutions to the customer base.
• Strong organizational capability including building and executing on aggressive plans, leading the everyday activities of a global engineering team.
• Experienced in micro services architecture, kubernetes or similar cloud technologies
