As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will take full ownership for the maintenance, uptime, and efficiency of our production and test environments. You will advocate for the most performant and cost-effective solutions within the Fieldin engineering organization. You will be responsible for leading change and proposing projects to continuously improve the performance, reliability, and scalability of multiple products spanning many systems.

Fieldin runs on AWS with Kubernetes, with heavy automation in both Jenkins and Python. The ideal candidate will possess experience in writing pipeline scripts in Jenkins, object oriented python, with extensive aws and Kubernetes experience.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and leadership regarding the proper solutions in AWS and GCP, including microservices architecture
  • Handle first-line triage and troubleshooting of critical events in our production environments, including on-call responsibilities in rotation with other teams.
  • Implement automation, effective monitoring, and infrastructure-as-code. Increase the sophistication of our alerting and escalation mechanisms.
  • Deploy and maintain CI/CD pipelines across multiple environment
  • Implement industry best practices for system hardening and configuration management
  • Continuously improve the efficiency and costs of our environment

Requirements:

  • Over 5 years in an DevOps Engineer role in high-tech.
  • Experience designing highly-available, scalable, fault-tolerant systems
  • The ability to analyze a system, understand it, and improve it, completely self-driven.
  • Deep understanding of system administration in Linux environments
  • Experience with containers (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • AWS operations experience (e.g. IAM, EC2, VPC, ELB, EKS, Autoscaling)
  • Experience implementing CI/CD
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code (e.g. Terraform, Cloudformation)
  • Experience with MYSQL/AWS RDS
