Now we’re looking for a Principal Engineer to join our Data group. This is an amazing opportunity to join a growing company and make a real impact on the future of our product while playing a critical role in the design and development of our data platform.

In this key role, you will be solving architectural and engineering challenges, and mentoring data-related teams in their day-to-day work. You will technically lead our cloud-based proprietary data platform solution, working on cloud-based microservices data pipelines, that need to work on a big data scale (more than 300K records/sec) in a low latency environment.

As we build the company data platform, it will directly impact our customers and enable many of the other groups and areas in the organization.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement a large scale data processing system
• Researching new technologies and adapting them for use in Cato data platform
• Be the go-to person for the most difficult problems. 
• Technically mentor team members, review code and provide feedback 
• Leading software standards and best practices for teams.
• Design and develop microservices using the newest methodologies 
• Collaborate with various stakeholders - product management, security researcher, other R&D groups in Cato and more 
  
  

Requirements

• 4+ years of hands-on technical leadership as a Principal Engineer
• 10+ years of hands-on programming experience in Java/Go
• Expertise in architecture, design, and development of data pipelines and high-scale storage
• Experience with microservices, Docker, and Kubernetes
• Familiarity with Cloud-based infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Experience with different relational and non relational databases such as MySQL, MongoDB, ClickHouse is an advantage.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Kibana, Grafana, and DataDog is an advantage.
• A team player with excellent collaboration skills
• Able to self-learn new skills and technologies
• Motivated, a fast learner, independent, and great at problem-solving
• BSc. degree in Computer Science from a known university
