Responsibilities
The role we are looking to hire is a Unique opportunity to lead a security domain with direct and strategic impact on Defender for Cloud and Microsoft Security all up, explicitly and highly prioritized by the senior leadership of Microsoft Security and Microsoft SLT.
Entails working with multiple engineering groups within and outside of MDC in a highly collaborative, result driven manner.
You will have the opportunity to work on business-critical initiatives that directly shape the future of Microsoft Defender for Cloud business.
Your responsibilities will encompass driving the vision and strategy of a major area, taking ownership of the planning and execution of global-scale services, nurturing and expanding the engineering team, fostering partnerships and collaborations across various groups and disciplines, instigating innovation and out-of-the-box growth strategies, and providing guidance and mentorship to your fellow team members. Your contributions in this role will have a lasting impact on Microsoft Defender for Cloud 's trajectory and its ability to shape the technological landscape.
Qualifications
- You have B.S./M.S. in Computer Science (or equivalent degree).
- You have 12+ years of software development experience.
- You have 8+ years of experience leading engineering teams through all phases of the development cycle.
- You have 4+ years of experience in managing people managers.
- Experience in leading large development projects and teams in complex environments with multiple interfaces.
- Great collaboration and people skills.
- Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- A role model for managers and engineers – responsible, thorough, proactive.
- Growth mindset and passion for learning.
Knowledge and experience in one of the following is an advantage:
- Background in Cloud and/or Security.
- Experience with Azure/AWS/GCP or other cloud-based development, multi-threaded and high scale systems.
- Experience in working with and fostering cross-geo relationships.
- Management in corporate environment.
