Job Overview

Are you an experienced and motivated graphics performance expert, looking for a high impact role working on the latest graphics technology?

Through performance analysis and requirements gathering, feature design and technical expertise, you will guide the work of a large SW engineering team influencing the wider organisation and GPU product!

Responsibilities

Working within a diverse group of architects you will be responsible for

  • Analysing performance aspects of the GPU. By studying the existing design, you will find improvement opportunities in the software architecture and hardware. Potential areas of focus will range from the Khronos graphics API implementations, work scheduling, firmware design and system integration considerations.
  • You will guide the work of other highly skilled architects in the team, identify the areas of focus and ensure we deliver the largest impact possible.
  • You will provide technical leadership to our development teams, guiding the teams in the technologies you help to define.
  • Working closely with teams across the GPU organization (such as HW development teams, competitive performance analysts, product marketing and technology research), providing technical expertise and representing the complex requirements of our GPU driver.
  • Through customer discussions and presentations, you’ll also gain an understanding of the sophisticated needs of our partners, while providing key technical representation of Arm.

Required Skills And Experience

  • Strong experience in technical leadership roles
  • Some experience in requirements analysis, software architecture definition and documentation.
  • Experience of analysing performance problems and defining solutions.

Nice To Have” Skills and Experience

  • A background in graphics or driver development.
  • Proven understanding of software development; ideally with C or C++ background.
  • Are motivated by software and hardware optimisation, from the metal to high level.
  • Have a self-driven, analytical and hands on approach to work.
  • Able to work across a wide geographical area and diverse teams.
  • Experience of embedded systems or firmware development.
  • Expertise of CPU architectures, surrounding fabric and peripherals.
  • Experience of development in a Linux, Android, or similar environment.
  • Experience of Khronos APIs, or other GPU driver internal topics.
  • Experience of people leadership.
