Description
Amazon is seeking a passionate, talented, and inventive Sr. Research Engineer with a robust background in AI/machine learning to join our AWS Computer Vision science team. Based in Haifa or Tel Aviv, you’ll be instrumental in advancing technology in Computer Vision, Generative AI, and foundational models. As a key member of the Amazon AWS Textract AI science team, your work will directly impact millions by developing algorithms that optimize foundational model inference engines. You’ll have access to Amazon’s vast computing resources and collaborate with a team of experts in a supportive, diverse environment.
Your role involves leading software component design, developing evaluation frameworks, and optimizing deep learning models within AWS’s production environment. This position offers the unique opportunity to solve real-world problems and innovate alongside top-tier engineers and applied scientists.

Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow).
- Prior experience with model inference optimization techniques like TensorRT, ONNX, or similar
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficient in handling large-scale machine learning systems, including profiling, debugging, and enhancing system performance and scalability.
- Solid experience in training and fine-tuning Large Language Models (LLMs) or working with diverse inference engines.
- In-depth knowledge of GPU architectures with a preference for candidates experienced in optimizing across various hardware platforms and systems
