About The Job

The Red Hat’s Telco Engineering team is looking for a Senior Integration Software Engineer in the team responsible for the Nokia Container Services (NCS) product. Red Hat and Nokia announced a partnership to jointly support and evolve NCS, a Container as a Service (Caas) offering for deploying and orchestrating container-based applications for Telco Cloud use cases. In this role you will be part of an R&D team responsible for development and testing of this product that has Kubernetes at the core of it. We are looking for candidates who have experience integrating components of the Kubernetes ecosystem.

Part of the team work is also integrating Storage components with openstack projects.

What You Will Do

  • Act as a technical leader for the team by helping to remove blockers, mentoring team members
  • Integrate storage components into the Kubernetes core.
  • Provide architectural and design direction to the team
  • Help to organize the team's work by breaking down feature epics into stories and tasks
  • Integrate open source software components into one robust container infrastructure
  • Propose, design and build innovative solutions to business problems
  • Troubleshoot problems, detect and fix bugs in the supported releases
  • Provide assistance to technical support organizations
  • working with our customers

What You Will Bring

  • Linux systems administration experience especially systemd-based distributions
  • 3+ years of experience with Kubernetes based infrastructure
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, Ansible and version control systems (GIT)
  • Practical use of and debugging of distributed systems
  • Code review and writing tests skills
  • Knowledge of Go programming language - an advantage
  • External storage Systems knowledge , like HPE Primera , EMC Unity - an advantage
  • Openstack knowledge, specifically tripleo deployments - an advantage
