In your role as an Algorithm Team Leader, you will:
- Be Part of the R&D team, manage relevant group members and report to the algorithm director.
- Lead the algorithm activities as directed by the algorithm director. These include algorithm research and development associated with the algorithms that convert the OLO images and signals output into useful customer insights as well as the algorithms associated with the device calibration and fail safes.
- Be responsible for planning and executing algorithm development projects from the requirement stage, conducting proof of concepts and algorithm benchmarks (including theoretical models and experimental setups), guiding design to V&V and assisting in hand-off to manufacturing of hardware and consumables. This may include designing experiments, protocols and data collections and summarizing their results in reports.
- Be responsible to guide team members in their ongoing work, define and prioritize tasks and to mentor their continual development. The team leader will also conduct hand-on work, as required.
- Be responsible for managing subcontractors utilized in the development work.
- Manage hiring processes to strengthen the team’s abilities and reach.

- Past experience managing an R&D team - a must
- Experience in conducting algorithmic, optomechanical or data science research.
- 3-5 years of Programming experience
- 3 years experience with computer vision and\or deep or machine learning
- Past experience with developing complex R&D projects - an advantage
- Past experience managing an R&D team - an advantage
- MSc in a Physics, computer science, math or other science domain
Skills:
- The job requires a combination of strong R&D capabilities, hands-on approach and good coding skills.
- Hands-on experience in algorithm development and data science.
- The ability to analyze, model and interpret data, problem-solving skills; excellent self learning skills.
- Excellent personal skills, the ability to communicate complex technical matters to technical and non-technical stake-holders, the ability to analyze complex projects, prioritize their associated activities, and delegate them to team members and to lead multidisciplinary activities.
- Leadership skills that include the ability, and desire, to mentor junior team members and grow and develop their technical and soft skills. The ability to build trust with product and project stakeholders as well as with other technical stakeholders, and interface with them in a useful and respectful manner.
