We seek a driven and passionate individual to fill the role of a software engineering manager. This person will guide a cohort of talented software engineers through a company-critical mission. This entails tackling intricate business issues, spearheading the next wave of industry-leading innovations for our industry clouds and AI solutions, growing the team, and playing a pivotal role in a “startup” within the company.
Responsibilities
As a senior engineer engineering manager in the group, you will be in charge of managing, leading, designing and delivering new capabilities leveraging cutting edge research and implementing new technologies. This includes solutions architecture definition, developing new components needed to enable new experiences, and solving technical problems, while developing and growing your team skills and careers. You will need to learn and work with the platforms on which we deliver our solutions including Azure, Dynamics 365, Microsoft Fabric, Power Apps, Power Automate.
To do that you will need to –
- Lead and manage a team of software engineers, promoting a culture of ownership and accountability.
- Guide the team in the design, development, testing, and deployment of high-quality software.
- Ensure that projects are completed on time and meet all business and system requirements.
- Conduct code reviews to ensure that code quality is at the highest level possible, and design and development are aligned with company standards.
- Work closely across teams and disciplines to shape the solutions and make sure they provide value to our customers.
- Mentor and coach team members, assisting with their professional growth.
- Work with the peer PMs to define the feature crew’s day to day execution.
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables.
- Debug and investigate live-site issues to ensure proper availability of our solution.
- Contribute to team-wide fundamentals/infrastructure investments.
- Lead the prototyping of new technologies and frameworks.
- Foster a culture of agility, innovation, and customer-focus within the team.
- Comply with project plans and industry standards.
- Lead by example high level of technical excellence (including but not limited to participating in design, code, and test reviews), and act as a technical leader for the team.
Qualifications
- Solid problem-solving, debugging and troubleshooting skills.
- Good communication, critical thinking, and collaboration skills.
- B.Sc. or higher degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- 6+ years of development experience in relevant technologies (C#, JS, React, cloud computing).
- Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer or similar role, with a track record of leading a software development team.
- Strong knowledge of software development methodologies and best practices.
- Ability to understand unfamiliar code bases, debug client and service side applications.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks completely and independently.
- Ability to bring clarity and alignment to the team.
- Knowledge of Azure is a plus.
