About the position

Our engineering team is made of strong all-around players. Every engineer works on all aspects of the system - from the orchestration of our Kubernetes clusters to inventing new algorithms that detect advanced attacks on APIs, to making our product’s deployments more seamless to customers.

Salt’s engineers are experienced, highly motivated, independent, fast learners, great problem solvers, and super to work with.

The Platform team is crucial in making Salt Security the API security leader.

The team oversees and builds infrastructure and tooling to allow the system to scale and perform in a fast, stable, and secure manner with bleeding-edge tech.

The platform team is leading the revolution of Salt’s cloud services, providing the expertise and best practices for development in the highest standards.

About the team

The team handles the collection of traffic from all of our customers. It is a crucial part of Salt and requires expertise to be able to build a system that handles Billions of requests per day. The Edge team handles this end-to-end, from deployment, monitoring, and development of the necessary infrastructure to collect and process traffic from all of our customers, taking into account the many variations of their infrastructure.

Who are you?

• 5+ years of software engineering experience
• Passionate and experienced in implementing Microservice patterns in a cloud-native environment
• Dynamic, self-directed, and capable of absorbing new information quickly
• Experience with Kubernetes and Helm
• Experience with Linux
• Experience with Cloud - AWS / Azure / GCP
• Experience with at least 2 of the programming languages:
• Go / Scala / Javascript / Java / Kotlin / C# / C++ / Python / Ruby

Preferred (but not mandatory) experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent), or relevant military background
• Platform / DevOps / Leadership positions in the past
• Experience with Linux Networking tools (iptables / tcpdump)
• Experience with GitOps (Argo / Flux / etc.)
