We are looking for a highly motivated, hands-on architect who is passionate about system performance, and who wants to study how Apple system really works and apply those learnings to future silicon.
You will be joining a team of extraordinary engineers and interacting daily with software and hardware engineering teams across Apple.
Key Qualifications
Strong SoC architecture knowledge, micro-architecture knowledge, and an understanding of competing architectures
Experience working in a post-silicon performance environment
Knowledge and experience with common performance benchmarks and workloads
Prior experience in system performance modeling is an advantage
Proficient in coding and scripting languages such C++ and Python
Ability to conduct experiments on real systems using custom tools
Description
Define architectural directions and tradeoffs based on real usage
Define and execute performance experiments on existing Apple systems using standard and custom performance benchmarks
Analyze performance results at high and low levels while tuning system settings as needed
Identify bottlenecks and over-design to re-define features and system requirements based on the learnings
Interact with various cross-functional teams to achieve above goals
