Responsibilities:
- Translate application storyboards and use cases into functional applications.
- Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Java code.
- Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the applications.
- Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems.
- Develop high performance & low latency components to run Spark clusters.
- Interpreting functional requirements into design approaches those can be served through Big Data platform.
- Collaborate and partner with Global Teams based across different locations.
- Be able to propose best practices and standards; handover to the operations.
- Perform the testing of software prototypes and transfer to the operational team.
- Processing of data using Hive, Impala & HBASE.
- Performing analysis of large data sets and derive insight.
Skills required:
- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming and design pattern.
- 8+ Years of strong Java experience with Java 1.8 or higher version.
- Experience in Big data technologies like HDFS, Hive. HBASE, Apache Spark & Kafka
- Comfortable working with large data volumes and be able to demonstrate a firm understanding of logical data structures and analysis techniques
- Capable of assisting with the design of solutions and mentoring other developers within the same team
- Strong Core Java & Multithreading working experience
- Experience in building self-service platform agnostic data access apis
- Service oriented architecture, and data standards like JSON, Citi Innovation Lab in Tel Aviv is where we research strategic technologies for Citibank. The lab generates thought-leadership, technological solutions, and innovation to Citi’s global banking business. The NLP group is in the epicenter of revolutionizing Citi’s approach to handling data: including automated document processing, information and entity extraction, summarization, as well as data analysis based chatbots. We are actively developing and introducing innovative technologies, including LLMs, combined text and image synergies and more. We are looking for multi-talented candidates that can tech-lead, research and develop NLP technologies and frameworks custom tailored to Citi’s needs. The successful candidate will also be an influencer and be able to mentor and build his team members to grow professionally and personally. Finally, we expect our successful candidate to be able to collaborate with internal clients and stakeholders to facilitate access to data, infrastructure and finally, deployment.
What will you do?- Work with the NLP Group manager to lead the development of specific NLP or projects.
- Tech- lead NLP data scientists and engineers that are strong and experienced in their domain.
- Constantly research cutting edge technologies and trends in the NLP field, and suggest adoption strategies.
- Build strong working relationships with product managers leading multiple projects as you will be accountable for your team members deliverables and quality of output.
- Design, implement and enhance code libraries, and develop new algorithms and services for:
- Text understanding using unsupervised and supervised approaches.
- Combine text and layout processing to improve document parsing.
- Develop natural language query facilities to drive intelligent data retrieval and analysis.
- Explore text generation approaches for producing reports, summaries and responses.
- Deliver production quality code libraries and components.
- Build a strong research Play a role of mentor, guidance, and professional and personal influencer.
- Establish and maintain DS and NLP best-practices and methodologies to build and keep our technology leadership.
What should you bring?
- At least 5 years’ experience as NLP data scientist or research engineer in a known software company.
- At least 3 years of experience in Python (preferred) or other programming languages.
- Hands-on development experience in NLP, LLM, and GPU/cuda technology stacks.
- M.Sc. in Engineering, computer science or related field.
- Proven experience in working using SCRUM.
- Experience working autonomously across multiple teams,
- Demonstrated critical thinking, and thought leadership.
- Communication experience and experience working with technical management teams to develop systems, solutions, and products.
- Analytical and problem-solving experience with large-scale systems.
- Experience working across multi-disciplinary teams and multiple partners in different time zones.
