About Autobrains:

Autobrains is a leading AI company in the automated driving space, backed by leading strategic and financial investors. Autobrains’ AI technology enables it to close the left gaps towards safe and affordable autonomous driving. The company has over 150 employees and is currently in a hyper-growth stage to support its commercial and strategic activities.

About the Team:

Situational Awareness is one of the most pressing issues inhibiting progress toward self-driving cars: it is the ability of an automated system to generate a semantic understanding of its surroundings. Current DL/ML techniques have come a long way in their ability to understand well-articulated problems, yet they categorically fall short of providing a full end-to-end SA solution for the foreseeable future.

The SA. Senior Engineer is expected to do the “heavy lifting” in this respect: research and develop an end-to-end SA module complementing our cutting-edge DL technology using a variety of disciplines that transcend the “traditional” neural-net-based approaches.

About The Role:

As an Object Detection and Tracking Algorithm Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing state-of-the-art computer vision algorithms for object detection and tracking in the context of autonomous driving and ADAS. Your work will directly impact the safety and efficiency of self-driving vehicles, enabling them to detect and track other vehicles, pedestrians, and objects in real-time.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and optimize object detection and tracking algorithms for autonomous driving systems.
  • Develop and enhance computer vision models and techniques to accurately detect objects of interest within a vehicle's environment.
  • Implement object-tracking algorithms that ensure the continuous monitoring and tracking of objects as they move across frames.
  • Address challenges related to occlusions, varying lighting conditions, and real-time processing to achieve robust object detection and tracking performance.
  • Evaluate and integrate cutting-edge computer vision and machine learning libraries and frameworks into our automotive AI stack.
  • Work closely with hardware and software engineers to ensure seamless integration of algorithms into our autonomous vehicles.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and advancements in computer vision, object detection, and tracking to continually improve our technology.

Requirements:

  • Master's, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in computer vision, specifically in object detection and tracking, with a focus on real-world applications.
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, C++, or similar.
  • Proficiency in deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and computer vision libraries (e.g., OpenCV).
  • Knowledge of state-of-the-art object detection and tracking algorithms and techniques.
  • Experience working on autonomous driving projects or ADAS systems is a significant advantage.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Attributes:

  • Technical expertise: Strong mathematical background including estimation theory, signal processing, numerical analysis, and integer optimization.
  • Problem-solving skills: Ability to identify problems, evaluate alternatives, and implement effective solutions quickly.
  • Adaptability: Openness to learning new techniques, adapting to changing requirements, and embracing new technologies.
  • Attention to detail: Ability to ensure accuracy and thoroughness in all aspects of research, design and implementation.
  • Initiative: Proactive in taking on new challenges, seeking out opportunities to improve processes, and driving results.
