The Tigo Firmware Engineer serves as a key technical member of the cross-functional team with the mission to simply make sure things are working – and working well.

As the Firmware Engineer you will have vast knowledge and experience and use highly developed scientific methodologies and firmware development techniques to develop embedded firmware to power our product

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING


  • Design, build, deploy, and maintain embedded firmware systems for the Tigo Energy's ’s power products
  • Develop innovative control algorithms for advanced power conversion products
  • Manage project deadlines and develop systems to meet overall requirements
  • Create documentation for all firmware projects
  • Perform root cause analysis of difficult problems
  • Working in a team with hardware and system engineers

WHAT WE WOULD LIKE TO SEE


  • BSc in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science or similar
  • Versatility in software development with extensive experience designing and integrating embedded system applications and a solid understanding of control systems, feedback loops, and monitoring
  • Skills: C, C++
  • Proficient in firmware development based on ARM M-series microcontrollers
  • Familiarity with PWM, ADC, DAC, GPIO
  • Proficiency in control systems (PID, DQ, Clark/Park, MPPT)
  • Complete familiarity with common lab test equipment (oscilloscopes, power/harmonic analyzer, spectrum analyzer)
  • Relevant industry (power conversion, inverters, motor drives etc.)
  • Proficiency with version control systems (Git)
  • Both bare metal and RTOS proficiency (Micrium / uC / FreeRTOS etc)
  • Communication protocols: SPI / UART
  • Knowledge of ST STM32 microcontroller
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAD


  • Assembly (ARM microcontrollers)
  • Simulation software (Matlab / Simulink / Spice)
  • Familiarity with scripting languages
