We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our team and work on our claims offering features end-to-end. This team will be responsible for delivering a delightful claims experience and optimized claims outcomes for our customers and internal stakeholders. Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you'll play a key role in ensuring a seamless and fair experience, crucial to our value proposition and mission success.

A day in the life:

• Design, build and integrate with systems & APIs to enhance our customer's Claims experience E2E
• Develop scalable, high-performing features and platforms whose performance can be observed and monitored
• Partner with data sciences and design fraud detection system using various data signals and patterns to analyze, detect, and flag anomalies
• Contribute to and consistently raise the bar for engineering best-practices such as coding standards, writing well-tested code and extensible reusable libraries

What you will need:

• 7+ years in backend software development, writing and maintaining production-grade software
• Experience with the Python programming language and common Python web frameworks is a plus!
• Experience with React or other modern Javascript frameworks - a plus
• Experience working closely with Product Managers - a must
• Understanding of HTTP APIs, webhooks, Message brokers, relational databases like Postgresql and non-structured databases, like Casandra
• Working in containerized environments in the cloud (we use AWS), experience with serverless is a plus
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills
• Self-driven and able to work independently in a highly ambiguous environment
• Comfortable working in a highly agile, intensely iterative software development process
