Check Point is looking for an outstanding hands-on R&D Team Leader for the Threat Prevention Cloud group.

The group is responsible for building the world’s largest and most advanced Threat Prevention cloud platform called Threat Cloud - a global platform that inspects data from hundreds of millions of sources from hundreds of thousands of customers in real time, preventing threats and sharing threat intelligence.

In this position you will lead a strong team of developers and will be in charge of building the core of a global threat intelligence platform, ingesting huge amounts of data and providing threat prevention APIs serving billions of requests per day. Additionally you will be responsible for developing advanced full stack product features for Check Point’s XDR offering.

You will develop new products and capabilities in an agile manner, directly contributing to Check Point’s business plans and to the worlds cyber security.

The group is tasked with tackling some of the world’s biggest technical and cyber security challenges, protecting the world from Phishing, Supply Chain attacks and other advanced threats in an ever changing landscape where threat actors and adversaries do their best to avoid detection.

You will lead a top notch team of software engineers and cyber security experts, providing the vision, professional and personal guidance as well as be responsible for their wellbeing and career path.

You will join a modern, dynamic and fast-paced environment and work with cross-functional teams to design, build and roll-out products that deliver the company’s vision and strategy.

Major Responsibilities

• Lead a development team - be responsible of recruitment, retention, growth, culture and provide professional guidance and vision
• Define product strategy and feature roadmap in cooperation with Product management, Sales, other R&D departments and other stakeholders
• Create effective research and development processes to accelerate product velocity
• Lead and monitor development projects to successful execution
• Be technically able to guide and enable your team on design, architecture, cyber security, research and implementation
• Develop and deploy security engines that are able to prevent the most novel attacks
• Directly contribute with hands-on development
• Own an internet scale critical cloud production environment and be responsible of its successful operation

Desired Background

• 2+ years of R&D management experience
• 6+ years of R&D hands-on experience in Java/ Python/Go/other modern programming language
• Proven record of developing large scale, modern cloud/SaaS systems
• Strong hands-on coding skills
• Strong hands-on knowledge of AWS services and Kubernetes
• Experience with developing cyber security products or cyber security research – must
• Experience with Front-end development - advantage
• Ability and interest to dive into and understand technical material (cloud, networking, cyber techniques and tactics)
• Independent, self-driven, responsible, results oriented
• Strong interpersonal skills leading and contributing to cross-functional teams
• Open mind to innovative thinking and bold projects
• Excellent written and verbal communications across technical and non-technical areas, English and Hebrew
