Computer Vision and Algorithm Team Leader at ShopperAI

Job Summary:

ShopperAI, a fast-growing retail tech start-up providing decision-making analytics in the physical retail world, is seeking an experienced and hands-on Computer Vision Team Leader to join our dynamic organization. As the Computer Vision Team Leader at ShopperAI, you will lead a team of talented computer vision engineers, drive the development of innovative solutions, and ensure the successful implementation of computer vision projects within the retail domain. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of computer vision and deep learning principles, strong technical skills, and a proven track record of leading and delivering successful computer vision projects.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the computer vision team, providing guidance, mentorship, and technical leadership to team members.
• Define and drive the technical vision and strategy for computer vision projects, aligning with ShopperAI's business goals.
• Full ownership of the computer vision video pipeline
• Design, develop and bring to production efficient deep learning-based computer vision algorithms for human activity detection and recognition
• Explore solutions for various computer vision tasks, using both classical and advanced tools
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs, design and implement ML models and solutions
• Ensure data quality, accuracy, and consistency by designing and implementing appropriate data pipelines and validation processes
• Communicate complex technical concepts and results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Provide technical expertise and support to the team, addressing technical challenges and providing guidance on best practices

Skills and Experience:

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with a focus on computer vision / machine learning
• 7+ years of industry experience in algorithm development and management, with a strong track record of leading and delivering successful projects to production
• Proficiency in computer vision algorithms and techniques, including object detection, recognition, tracking, segmentation, and action recognition
• Strong programming skills in Python
• Experience with deep learning frameworks, such as TensorFlow or PyTorch
• Solid understanding of image processing techniques, feature extraction, and optimization methods
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team towards project goals within the retail domain
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
• Experience with agile development methodologies and project management tools
