Are you passionate and curious about server architecture? Bizzabo is currently seeking a Senior Back-End Developer to join our fantastic engineering team.

Our architecture is built upon a micro-services-based model, utilizing cloud infrastructure and orchestrated by Kubernetes. The back-end services are written in Kotlin and Java using the Spring Boot framework.

We rely on MySQL and Elasticsearch as our data stores while leveraging Redis for high-performance data storage. We utilize Kafka for event streaming and Temporal for workflow orchestration within our system.

Furthermore, we have built our own data warehouse and are using advanced analytics and BI tools.

As a Senior member of the R&D team, you will take charge of end-to-end initiatives, mentor and guide peers and colleagues, drive innovation within the team, and lead by setting a positive example.

Requirements

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• Work in a cross-functional team to collaboratively deliver excellent value to customers by understanding their needs and challenging requirements.
• Be dedicated to product quality through architecture planning, code review, monitoring, and communication with customer-facing teams.
• Focus on high availability, low latency, and scalability.
• Contribute your analytical abilities and enthusiastically research new solutions to challenging problems.

What You Have

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in server-side development.
• Proven experience with Java (Kotlin is an advantage).
• Familiarity with Spring Boot or the Spring framework.
• Experience with relational databases such as MySQL.
• Experience with cloud-native technologies, such as Kubernetes.
• Experience working with event streaming platforms such as Kafka.
• Proven track record in designing, building, and maintaining large-scale distributed systems.
• Ability to learn and adopt new technologies.
• Computer science degree from a leading institute or equivalent experience.

What Would Be a Bonus

• Experience with AWS infrastructure, including EC2, S3, RDS, and SQS.
• Experience with Elasticsearch.
• Background in payments systems.
• Familiarity with Kotlin.
• Familiarity with the Temporal.io platform.
• Experience with Kubernetes.
• Fundamentals of reactive programming.
