The Role:

Moovit is looking for a talented Android Group Lead with a can-do attitude, passion and experience in implementing cutting-edge technology into the latest products.

As an Android Group lead, you will be responsible, among other things, for implementing algorithms, writing robust infrastructure, diving into new concepts and technologies, and defining and developing for millions worldwide!

Responsibilities:

• Lead a group of software developers in top-to-bottom mobile application development.
• Manage the day-to-day activities of the development team while adhering to the company’s overall development strategy.
• Serve as a force multiplier for your team by removing roadblocks, identifying and implementing process improvements, and delegating effectively.
• Actively build community and culture throughout the engineering organization.
• Continually research and implement management best practices, including providing team members with frequent, actionable, constructive feedback.
• Translate complex functional and technical requirements into detailed development tasks.
• Responsible for all of Moovit’s Android products
• Lead advanced Android features
• Collaborate closely with product and design teams to create innovative user interfaces and features optimized for mobile platforms.

Requirements:

• B.Sc. in computer science/Software Engineering
• 3+ years in Java development
• 3+ years of Android development
• 2+ years of leading an Android team.
• Excellent understanding of Objective Oriented design patterns and Android fundamentals
• Deep curiosity to learn new technologies, explore new ideas, and passion for implementing them
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to influence others within your team and outside your team
• Attention to detail, particularly around software engineering fundamentals and quality
• Strong sense of ownership and initiative to fix problems and optimize systems that are both inside and outside your area of responsibility
• Strong work ethic, productivity, and commitment; desire to see projects through to timely completion.
