SlitLED has developed a commercial slit lamp designed for use in telemedicine.

The device allows eye physicians to remotely perform a comprehensive slit examination with full medical efficacy, thus eliminating the need for a face-to-face examination.The company's device consists of two units: one located in the doctor's office, and another (the patient's unit) located in a remote clinic or optical store.

The eye physician controls the patient's unit in real time during a teleconference with the patient.SlitLED is supported by the Israeli Innovation Authority and has received a letter of intent from a strategic partner based in the United States.
