PoLoPo is a research and development company creating plant-based solutions designed to address the growing demand for non-animal derived proteins as a way to mitigate the effects of the climate crisis.PoLoPo harnesses plants potential as a diverse metabolite and protein factory while using directed metabolic engineering techniques to create a superAA plant capable of producing large amounts of free amino acids.

The increased production of amino acids can in turn lead to the high-scale production of proteins.

In this second phase, superAA plants are used as the basis for creating a new set of plants by expressing and accumulating the target proteins in plant sink organs.As part of its mission to produce various highly nutritious proteins in edible plants, PoLoPos first goal is to use potato plants for the production and extraction of the protein found in eggs for use in a wide range of food applications.
