Passive Sensor for Urinalysis

Olive Diagnostics has developed a noninvasive passive urinalysis sensor that provides real-time health alerts, early detection, and information on disease progression.

Using optics for data collection, the sensor is mounted inside the toilet and does not require further intervention.

The sensor detects the composition of the urine and sends the data to the cloud.

AI algorithms then process the sample to detect the molecular composition and characteristics of the urine.

The findings are sent back to either the user via a mobile application or the user’s medical supervisor, and the biomarker data is also sent directly to the electronic health record system for physician and provider accessibility. The device monitors the duration and biomarkers for hydration; pregnancy; ovulation; red blood cells (for early detection of kidney stones); white blood cells (for detection of urinary tract infections); protein (related to preeclampsia, infections, prediabetes, and diabetes); electrolytes; changes in urination patterns, including volume, time of day, frequency, and duration; glucose; ketones; and specific gravity (for hepatorenal syndrome).
