LiteBC is developing a noninvasive blood count device that enables real-time monitoring of blood cells in-vivo (within the body) as the blood cells flow in the blood vessels.LiteBC's device allows users to simply place the handheld optical probe on the patient's lip.
Vital parameters of the blood count are then analyzed and displayed on the console. The technology is based on advanced imaging of the blood vessels, where multiple imaging channels are utilized in order to overcome shadowing scattering from the epidermis.
Imaging optics are concentrated on the optical probe, from which the information is sent into the console, where the light is analyzed and processed.
LiteBC measures various blood parameters including white blood cells, red blood cells, differential count of white blood cells, relative volume of red blood cells in the plasma, and hemoglobin.
The various parameters are shown on the console screen, along with the accumulating precision of the test, in real time.LiteBC's vision is to transform complete blood counts into a simple and accessible test, similar to blood pressure and body temperature.
The company aims to evolve complete blood count testing into a continuous measurement, with a rich diagnosis basis.
