GameIS community was established during 2008, a re-birth of IGDA Israel in order to coordinate the national activities in video game development.

Over the years, the group has promoted the local industry, with an emphasis on raising awareness, holding professional gatherings and social events, organizing forums of mutual aid, recruiting sponsors, etc.

Over the years, the small mailing list evolved into a Facebook group which has over 7000 members, as a home for local game developers, and maintains a variety of events and activities throughout the year.
