Eximo Medical is developing hybrid catheter technology for tissue resection in vascular and gastrointestinal endoluminal applications.

The companys proprietary single-use hybrid catheter, Auryon, combines optical fibers that deliver short laser pulses and a blunt mechanical knife.The Auryon system is designed to allow treatment of infrainguinal lesions both above and below the knee (including below the ankle), with a built-in off-centering mechanism for eccentric lesions in the largest catheter.

The device includes built-in aspiration to address the risk of embolization.Auryon has been tested in a multinational trial in both office-based labs and hospitals.
