Cuspa is developing an artificial cusp for use in treating aortic valve insufficiency (AI), a heart disorder in which the valve does not close properly and allows blood to flow backward into the heart.

The companys CUSPER is an artificial cusp, connected to a grasper, that is attached to the native valve cusp/leaflet for the treatment of AI.Cusper is attached to the native aortic valve cusp using a nitinol grasper, it preserves the functionality of an healthy aortic and prevents valve insuffiency.

After demonstrating proof of concept, Cuspa Medical is carrying out pre-clinical studies on pigs, with the objective to optimize Cusper‘s performance.
